The San Diego Zoo
The Pandas were Soooooooo Cute. The exibits at the Zoo were tremendous. Most behind glass or wire pens which made photgrapy more difficult. We did get to view the two young grizzly bear brothers in a wrestling match. I did not get a photo of it, but I did get it on video. We took the tour bus and the sky ride at the Zoo, but we still managed to walk our legs off. At lunch time, Shelly just wanted to grab something at the Zoo and I thought it would be my only chance to try the Japanese restaurant that James had recommended. So I temporarily left the Zoo and had lunch at Yoshinos. I am so glad I did!! I returned to the Zoo and stayed till it closed. We ordered Pizza in, and watched Survivor and American Idol.
San Diego Temple
After the light house, we decided we wanted some ColdStone Ice Cream. With "Rhonda's" help, we located one 12 miles away. It seemed a little far, but HEY it's ice cream! To make a long story short, the first Coldstone had gone out of business!! So we had to find another one. Tuesday evening we managed to find Coldstone, Radio Shack, and the Valley Mall. "Rhonda" whacked out a couple of times and sent us on a wild adventure, during which we laughed so hard I almost.....well I won't go there! On the way back to our room we passed the SD Temple which was lit up so we got a picture of that. Another big day.
Old Point Loma Lighthouse
After the Flower Fields, we moved further south to Sand Diego. After checking in, we went to the Cabrillo National Monument, which is where the Old Point Loma Lighthouse is. This was out on the peninsula and high up so that we could see way out to sea and the cityscape of Sand Diego. I wanted to stay longer, but they closed the park at 5 PM.

Drumming Circle
As we neared the beach we could hear this raggae, Jamaican type drum sounds. Of course I had to check it out. It appeared to be a group with a bunch of percussion instruments. I noticed that there was a pile of instruments in the center and anyone could choose an instrument and join in. So of course I did. It was great fun! I think I must have some Jamaican ancestry somewhere! Me and my new friends made beautiful music together and I left here feeling like a "free spirit".
